Welcoming 2022 with Open Mind and Heart

Where are you heading this 2022?

What are the things that you learned last year that you will bring this year?

What’s your wish for the year 2022?

Those are the things that came to mind while creating my bullet journal.

Actually, one of the reasons why I like this season is that I’ll be able to plan again for the stuff that I like to do, things I like to achieve and skills I want to develop. I love planning a lot. Until such time that I’m done planning, then I’ll monitor my progress.

While being optimistic, I can’t help myself feel a bit sad and confused. Because we are still living in a pandemic world, we’re limited to where we want to go. Although I’m an introvert, there comes a time that I wanted to go out and explore museums, go out for a trail run or swim and relax in the beach.

For the mean time, we just have to be obedient, follow health protocols and take care of ourselves and others.

Going back to my bullet journal, I was having doubts in creating yet another set for this year. I’m afraid I won’t finish it again like last year. But why not? It’s always a good time to start something new.

It required me an ample amount of will power and energy to grab my bullet journal, sketch a design, plan for future logs, monthly and weekly spreads. And yes, sometimes I kinda feel exhausted already while thinking all the things I needed to create for my bujo setup.

Here’s a life hack I discovered that works well for me. I’ll write three major things I needed to do for the day. I practice being mindful while doing my activity, meaning, I only think nothing else but my current task.

If I found myself thinking other things or remembering past or caught myself thinking what if’s, I’ll interrupt my thought pattern then I’ll immediately go back to what I’m doing.

It’s difficult to master, as much as it’s challenging to practice day by day. But I find it rewarding. It’s helping me not to multitask and I feel so much better. One task at a time, lessens an overwhelming feeling and slowly but surely accomplishing tasks.

Sharing here my documentation captured in a video on how I setup my bullet journal for this year. Have fun watching!
